Glamping after the Corona Virus

The UK and rest of the world is going through an unprecedented time at the moment with the COVID-19 virus. The virus is having a profound effect on people’s lives and businesses. At Cedar & Oak like many companies we have closed our workshops and our team are following the guidelines and staying at safe.

We are all hoping that everyone stays safe and healthy.

Whilst working from home I’ve been looking at the glamping market as our bespoke shepherd huts make perfect accommodation for owners and sites looking to offer guests something a little special.

The glamping market is growing more and more and the prediction by experts is that many more people will be going on holiday within the UK in the years to come due to the COVID-19 virus.

Over the past number of years, the UK has seen a huge rise in tourists looking for unique and special glamping sites. No part of the UK has seen this demand rise more than beautiful rugged Scotland.

Scotland sees tourists spend around £100 million each year and many glamping site owners are seeing many happy returning guests each year as glamping is fast becoming the hottest accommodation type with the 20-40 year olds.

One particular glamping booking website www.pitchup.com has seen the amount of glamping sites listed available for tourists to stay in double in the past year. The site has seen glamping accommodation in the form of pods, tents, cabin and of course shepherd huts rise greatly.

Shepherd huts are particular favourite for many tourist as they offer a great balance of luxury, connection with the wild and comfort that many guests are looking for whilst on holiday. Shepherd huts that have little extra added touches that catch the eye of people browsing accommodation seem to always book up first with guests as they are increasingly looking for accommodation that stands out.

Scotland is currently the most visited part of the UK for glamping due to its unique and beautiful wilderness, wildlife and lochs offering tourists experiences that are unique and special. Wales, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset are not far behind however with tourists looking for amazing places to stay in these stunning locations be it Cape Cornwall’s stunning cost line, Pembrokeshire’s breath taking beaches or Devon’s rolling wild hills.

If you are a glampsite owner, farmer, land owner or enlightened individual and are thinking about life after COVID-19 and the glamping market then please get in touch. We would love to have a chat about a bespoke glamping shepherd hut or building and what we can offer you and your guests.

Stay safe.
